Many Brahmin community, including the Brahmin Raksha Dal, are protesting the film. They allege that the makers are insulting the Brahmins and showing them wrongly. Prateek Gandhi has clarified on the controversy over the film.
Prateek Gandhi said that we have reached a period where it cannot be thought whether he can offend someone. He said that there was a time when people were very tolerant and open -minded, but in the last few years they have seen that people get angry at the most strange things.
Prateek Gandhi said while talking to ‘The Hollywood Reporter India’ before the release of ‘Phule’, “It is very sad and heartbreaking. First, I say it as an artist, because it should not be so. I have seen a time when our country and our people were not like this. We were very tolerant, very open thoughts and very progressive.”
Prateek Gandhi further said, “In the last few years, I have seen resentment over the most strange things. We have reached a point where you cannot even imagine whether someone can angry.” He said that in today’s time, you cannot even say red color red. “
Prateek Gandhi said, “This is madness. When it reaches that level, I think there is no point in thinking anything before taking a decision. So as an artist, my inner feeling is the strongest weapon that I have to decide on the script. If I can join the script, world and story, I want to be a part of it.” CBFC allegedly asked the producers of ‘Phule’ to make several changes in the film, including removing dialogues and scenes like ‘Mahar’, ‘Mang’, ‘Peshwai’.
