OPINION: Govinda dominated the box office in the 80s and 90s. His name alone often made films superhit. The magic of his stardom had a deep impact on his fans, who eagerly waited for his new films. Then, gradually he moved away from Bollywood… and for the last six years he did not get a single Bollywood film. But, why is everyone talking about Govinda for the last two days?

OPINION: Will Bollywood benefit from Govinda's new innings?

A person who suffered a lot in his life… from poverty to struggle and then a glamorous life. We are talking about veteran Bollywood actor Govinda, whose real life was no less than reel life. Govinda tasted both success and failure… but he never gave up. The actor in whose name films used to become hits, who was considered the biggest superstar of Bollywood in the 80s and 90s… suddenly his films started flopping and proving to be a disaster at the box office and he got the title of flop star. Then, he stopped getting films and he soon dropped out of the industry. But, the popularity he gained through his powerful acting never left him.

Govinda may have been away from films, but his fans always talked about him. His fans were hoping that one day Govinda would return to the silver screen, and finally that time has come. Just two days ago, Govinda had told his fans through a post on his Instagram account that he is completely ready for a new innings. His tremendous fan following can be gauged from this post of Govinda. His fans are continuously expressing their happiness by commenting on his posts.

Some wrote, ‘Now it will be fun’ while some wrote, ‘Waiting for your new film’. Is Govinda making a comeback into acting through any film or web series? There is no information yet, but if he is going to make a comeback from the film, then it can prove to be a golden opportunity for Bollywood. Bollywood’s box office performance is not doing very well these days. In such a situation, this experiment with Govinda can be successful, because people have been desperate to see him on the big screen for the last six years. Govinda is the only artist whose films may flop at the box office, but the audience never gets bored in theatres. Govinda breathes life into every genre of film, be it comedy, action or emotional. Govinda has been known for playing every character brilliantly on screen.

Govinda has been trying to make a comeback in Bollywood for the last several years, and now it seems that luck has finally been on his side. He’s finally ready to make a comeback, and we can’t wait to hear about his new project. Govinda is an all-rounder star, but time has not been on his side in the last few years. If Govinda’s career gets back on track, then this new innings could be a long one for him. Another question that arises is whether he is returning as a hero or a villain? This is the most serious question. However, I don’t think he would want to return as a villain. He is still the No. 1 hero for the audience, and he wouldn’t want his fans to see him as a villain.
