Kesari Chapter 2 movie review Akshay Kumar Bollywood Hindi cinema critic rating opinion | Kesari Chapter 2 Movie Review: ‘खूनी बैसाखी’ की सच्ची कहानी है अक्षय कुमार की ‘केसरी 2’
The 2019 film ‘Kesari’ was based on the battle of Saragarhi, which took place in 1897 among 21 Sikh soldiers of the 36th Sikh Regiment of the British Indian Army and 10,000 Afridi and Orakzai Pashtun tribals. In that film, Akshay Kumar was at the box office in the role of Sikh soldier. ‘Kesari’ crossed the total 200 crore mark at the worldwide box office. Now after 6 years, ‘Kesari 2’, released in theaters today (18 April 2025), has gone 2 steps ahead of its first part. This time in the film, Akshay Kumar ‘C. Shankaran is playing the role of Nair, who was an Indian lawyer who fought a case in court against General O Dyer after the ‘Jallianwala Bagh massacre’. This time the film also stars Regina Casendra, R Madhavan and Ananya Pandey along with Akshay. So let’s tell you how the film ‘Kesari 2’?
Story:
The story begins with the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar, where more than 10,000 innocent people are shown roasting the British. Then this murder is suppressed. All newspapers are burnt in the press. It is shown in the film that first C. Shankaran Nair advocates on behalf of the British, but after this incident he stands against the British Empire. He fights a case against General O Dyer in the court, in which the student of law Dilrit Gill supports him and this is his first case. This film has worked to bring out the truth of ‘Killy Baisakhi’. Do Shankaran Nair win in this historic court room drama? Do General O Dyer prove guilty? To know the answers to these questions, you have to go to the cinema hall and watch the whole film.
Acting:
Akshay Kumar has proved that acting has no age. He has played the character of ‘C Shankaran Nair’ in a very brilliant way, which is really commendable. At the same time, Ananya Pandey has also put his life in her character. After this film, the chances of getting Ananya’s career boost have increased. At the same time, R Madhavan has played the role of ‘Advocate Neville McCinley’ in the film, who was fighting a case in court on behalf of General O Dyer. Madhavan has played this character well in his style. Apart from these, you will see South actress Regina Kassandra in the role of ‘C Shankaran Nair’, who was also seen in a strong role in Sunny Deol’s film ‘Jat’ released last week. Even though his screen space in this film is small, everyone will like to see him on the screen.
Direction:
‘Kesari’ was directed by Anurag Singh, while ‘Kesari 2’ has been directed by Karan Singh Tyagi. When you sit watching the film, not a single scene will look artificial. They have paid attention to everything. From set to costume, you will take you 106 years ago. There are some scenes in the film that will make your eyes moist.
Music:
This time in ‘Kesari 2’, the responsibility of music was given to the eternal Sachdev and he also succeeded in retaining the music of ‘Kesari’. The background score of this film is its soul. At the same time, the songs you will listen to in the voice of Manmohan Waris, Kamal Heer, Sangatakar, Shashwat Sachdev and Shanya Kashyap will make you listen to you.
Lacks:
The biggest drawback of the film is its speed. The pace of the film is very slow from the first half to the second half, due to which you may feel a little boredom, but by the climax, its speed increases and it becomes very interesting to watch the film. Apart from this, some more songs could be added to the film. This would definitely give some happiness to music lovers.
See or not to see?
If I believe, then we must watch such films which are associated with history, but should watch this film with the whole family. 3 stars from my side for the film ‘Kesari 2’.
