Government employees and their families can now get treatment abroad under the health scheme. However, pensioners do not have this facility.
New Delhi. There is good news for all central employees working in the country. Now they and their families will also get big benefit outside the country. Government employees will also have the facility of treatment abroad under health scheme. Regarding this, clarification has been given by the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
Recently, in response to TK Damodaran, Chennai’s TK Damodaran by Sandeep Kumar, the Under Secretary of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, said that treatment can be availed abroad as well as under the Central Government Health Scheme. While pensioners cannot get the benefit of this.
The letter states that according to Rule 11 of CSMA, 1944, a government employee and its dependent families can get treatment outside the country. Apart from this, a reference to the expenses incurred after treatment of his or family in the country or abroad can also be claimed.
It has been clarified in the letter that government employees mean the employees working under the central government who are still employees and are serving the government. According to the rules of Central Service Medical Attendance, the employees who get pension will not get the benefit of treatment abroad under this scheme.
