New Delhi. Despite the challenges caused by corona pandemic, on 11 March 2021, the Indian Rail has crossed the figure of the total cumulative freight of last year.
On March 11, 2021, Indian Railways had a cumulative freight carrying of 1145.68 million tonnes, which is more than the total cumulative loading (1145.61 million tonnes) of the previous year.
These figures of March 2021 reflect the boom in the case of goods loading and speed. Also, at what speed the Indian Railways is functioning, it also displays it.
On a monthly basis as of 11 March 2021, the load of Indian Railways was 43.43 million tonnes, which is 10 percent more than the same period (39.33 million tonnes) of the previous year.
On a daily basis on March 11, 2021, the goods loading of Indian Railways was 4.07 million tonnes, which is 34 percent more than the same date (3.03 million tonnes) of the previous year.
In the month of March 2021, till March 11, the average speed of freight trains was 45.49 kmph, which is almost double the same period (23.29 km per hour) of the previous year.
It is noteworthy that Indian Railways is also giving many concessions and discounts to make the movement of freight trains more attractive. Indian Railways freight is being developed rapidly with constant communication and high speed with customers who strengthen business development units in zones and divisions, industries and logistic services.
