Nargis died very early and in a recent interview, Priya revealed that when her mother died, she was just 14 years old. Nargis died due to cancer. The actress was a Muslim and married a Hindu man Sunil. But Priya has now revealed that she wanted Muslim cremation rather than Hindu customs.

Nargis wanted to live next to the mother’s grave after dying
After Nargis died, she wished to bury herself next to her mother. Priya revealed that the mother had undergone seven surgery in two weeks. Sanjay Dutt’s sister told in an interview with Vicky Lalwani that, he kept bleeding so much that he had to open him again and again and had surgery. Eventually, it reached a point where they could not be stitched anymore. They had to tie him with tape. Therefore, a lot happened. We were very young to see both our parents in such a situation. It changes your whole life. You suddenly grow up and you are no longer more than a 15 -year -old girl. We grew up when this happened.

Sanjay Dutt’s Rocky could not see Nargis
He said, ‘When my mother was in the hospital, my father was not eating food. They were constantly smoking, worried. Therefore, we had to take care of them and ensure that they are eating, because we could not even lose them. Priya said that this was a difficult time for Sanjay Dutt because she was not there to watch her first film. He said, ‘Mother had said that the release of the film should not be delayed. She had said that she will also come to see the film on the stretcher. But he died 3-4 days before the release of Sanjay’s first film. It was very sad for Sanjay that he was not present to watch his first film and fly his career.

Priest opinion for Nargis’s funeral
Priya further said, ‘Later Rocky premiered and we kept a seat vacant next to Papa for mother. His funeral was a very unrealistic scene. Of course, the priests came to my father from everywhere who came to pray for him. He said, ‘Many people told me that they were married to a Hindu, so they should be cremated in a Hindu way.’ But he said, ‘No, he wished to be buried and we will do everything according to their wish.’

Nargis’s soil went to Haridwar
So when Nargis died, he insisted on burying Muslims in a Muslim manner. Priya said, ‘My mother wanted her to be buried in her family cemetery. Then, we also went to Haridwar by taking soil with father. When we brought his body home, there were many media persons there and a person asked me how I feel. I must have said something, because Papa took us to a room and told us that if we want to cry and scream, then we should do it with them, but outside, we should maintain our restraint. For information, let us tell you that Nargis Dutt was cremated according to both Hindu and Muslim customs. Although he was taken to the ghat according to Hinduism, he was buried according to Muslim customs due to fear of fire.
