One of them is Adi Irani, who despite being the name of his sister Aruna Irani and a film family, remained only a side hero.

Aruna Irani is recognized as Bollywood’s biggest villain, but her brother etc. faced poverty despite working with superstars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan in the 90s. He played most of the negative roles in films, but in real life, the crisis of money tried to break him.

Adi Irani was born in an artist family, his father Faridoon Irani was an Indian cinematographer who worked in Hindi films, while his mother Shagu was an actress. Adi had 8 siblings, in which brother Indra Kumar is a famous director and producer and sister Aruna Irani is a Bollywood veteran actress. Her cousin Bindu is also an actress.

He made his debut in 1978 with the film ‘Trishna’ and later worked in hit films like ‘Dil’, ‘Son’, ‘Baazigar’, ‘Badshah’, ‘Welcome’. On TV too, he appeared in shows like ‘Kasauti Zindagi Ki’, ‘Here I Ghar Ghar Kheli’, ‘Nata Hoga Chand Hoga Chand’, ‘CID’. But despite fame, Adi’s life continued to struggle with poverty.

In an interview to the film system media, Adi said, ‘The 1993 film’ Baazigar ‘earned Rs 32 crore, but I was of no use, my first daughter was born in 1995, then there was no milk of 5 rupees. Adi worked in many projects with his sister Aruna, like he played the role of Aruna’s son in ‘Son’. Aruna produced TV shows and gave an opportunity to Adi, but she never took financial help from her sister. Adi says, ‘Aruna is my elder sister, but this does not mean that she should take responsibility of my family.’ He said that Aruna offered help several times in Muflissi, but Adi refused. His wife Don Irani was the biggest support in Adi’s life. He said that Don supported him in every difficult time and both of them remained their love marriage and their two daughters are Anada and Aaraya Irani. Adi says, ‘Salute to my wife … I can never get up without them. Due to being a love marriage, sometimes I would have a gilt feel that he had to struggle because of me.
