It is not about the industry, it is about the state. Even political parties are opposing, the procannada organizations are saying that they have to answer. Chief Minister also expressed protest
The controversy began during the promotional event of ‘Thug Life’, in which Trisha Krishnan and Silambasan TR were also present along with Kamal Haasan. Talking about the culture and linguistic relations of South India, Kamal Haasan said that Kannada has originated from Tamil. Political parties strongly criticized this statement. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah reacted strongly and said that Kannada has its own history and Kamal Haasan does not know about it.

Many Kannada groups and language workers have also joined this demand. They are appealing to the actor to withdraw their statement and apologize to the public.
