‘Kubera’ is getting good response from critics and audiences. Dhanush plays the role of a beggar in the social drama film, who crosses difficulties. The film is directed by Shekhar Kammula. During the film’s pre-release event in Hyderabad, Dhanush said that he left no stone unturned to play the role of a beggar.

Dhanush told that he begged on the streets of Tirupati to get into the role. He said, “I rely on the director’s name and reception and said yes to the film immediately. But in the end, he begged me on the streets of Tirupati. ‘Kubera’ is my 51st Tamil film and my second Telugu film after ‘Sir’.”

Dhanush said, “Really, Shekhar sir had already contacted me with the script of ‘Kubera’ before ‘Sir’.” Earlier, Dhanush had talked about shooting in a garbage place for hours. He had said, “Looking at another part of the world, one whom you don’t see… you are always in your comfort zone, just as you do what is convenient, you are safe. I come from a very simple background.”

‘Kubera’ is Dhanush’s Telugu debut film and also has Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandana and Jim Sarbh. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has given U/A rating to ‘Kubera’, but for this, cuts of about 19 cuts, ie about 13 minutes and 41 seconds have been cut.
