Not only this, all the songs of the film were also super hit. Even today this film is very famous among the people. It was a romantic drama musical film, directed, co-written and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

The film featured Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan and Aishwarya Rai in the lead roles. According to Wikipedia, the makers were spent about Rs 16 crore to make this film, while the Worldwide was a total of Rs 51.38 crore at its box office.

It was mainly received from critics. ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ received 17 nominations at the 45th Filmfare Awards, including Best Actor (Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan), and won 7 awards, including Best Film, Best Director (Sanjay Leela Bhansali), Best Actress (Aishwarya Rai) and Best Playback Singer Mel (Udit Narayan).

In the film, Salman Khan was seen as Sameer ‘Sam’ Roselini, Ajay Devgan Advocate Vanraj, Aishwarya Rai as Nandini Darbar, Vikram Gokhale as Pandit Darbar and Smita Jayakar as Amrita Darbar.

The film stars Nandini (Aishwarya Rai) the daughter of Pandit Darbar (Vikram Gokhale), who is a famous supporter of Indian classical music. It is announced that a young man named Sameer (Salman Khan) is coming to live with the Darbar family, as he wants to understand the nuances of Indian classical music under the guidance of Pandit.

She is accommodated in Nandini’s room, from which she goes elsewhere and, hence, starts dislikes Sameer. At first, both of them tease and joke each other, but soon they start loving each other deeply. Both share romantic moments during many family programs, such as weddings and festivals.

One day the pandit is caught by the pandit practicing his wedding oath. The old man gets angry because he has already decided Nandini’s marriage with young lawyer Vanraj (Ajay Devgan), who fell in love with her cousin Anu’s wedding. Sameer is expelled from the house, and the Pandit leaves the song because she believes that Nandini has maligned the family. The climax of this film is also tremendous.
