17 सुपरहिट फिल्में देकर बना सुपरस्टार, लेकिन फिर 7 फिल्में लगातार फ्लॉप और टूट गया इस एक्टर का दिल
Mumbai : One morning of winter, on 29 December 1942, a child’s Kilkari Gunji, Jatin Khanna was named in the streets of Amritsar. Perhaps no one had seen in that innocent face that it would become the same person, whom Hindi cinema will be called ‘first superstar’ in the coming time. Jatin had a dream of films in his heart and one day he showed courage. Participated in a talent hunt competition, where he was selected at number one in 10,000 contestants. Rajesh Khanna was born from here.
Rain of sadness in the cloud of perfection
There is a deep trench behind every height and Kaka’s life is also not untouched by it. After 1976, his luck took a turn. ‘Mehbooba’, ‘Request’, ‘Karma’, ‘Tarn’, ‘Chal Purja’ – one after the other, seven films fell at the box office. This was the same person who used to write letters out of blood outside the cinema halls to see, but now he was looking tired on the screen.
Actor wanted to end life
These were not just flop films, it was a deep injury to Rajesh Khanna’s confidence. In the book ‘Rajesh Khanna: The Untold Story of India’s First Superstar’, Yasir Usman writes that Kaka went into depression during this period. He even thought that he would end his life by drowning in the sea. But, just as his characters used to emerge on the screen, he re -handled himself in real life.
