Moushumi, who got tremendous success in films, faced a lot of sorrows in her family life. There was a time when he prayed to God for his daughter’s death.
Moushumi Chatterjee stepped into Bollywood in 1970 and made a place in the hearts of people in a short time. He worked with big actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Jeetendra, Vinod Mehra. His acting was highly appreciated in films like ‘Roti Clourish Aur House’ with Manoj Kumar, ‘Anurag’ with Vinod Mehra, ‘Anaman’ with Amitabh and ‘Manzil’. Moushumi started her career with the Bengali film ‘Balika Vadhu’ at just 10 years old.
At the age of 15, Moushumi married Jayant Mukherjee. At that time she used to study in class 10th. However, even after marriage, he did not give up acting. She became a mother at the age of 17 and then gave birth to another daughter after 8 years. His elder daughter’s name is Payal and the younger daughter’s name is Megha.
Moushumi’s elder daughter Payal married a businessman. In the year 2018, Moushumi filed a case for his daughter’s custody in the court. It was then revealed that Payal was suffering from type-1 diabetes for many years and was in a coma for almost 3 years.
Moushumi had accused her son -in -law of not allowing her daughter to meet her. She said that she was unable to see her daughter’s pain and prayed to God for her calm death. He said, “My daughter was very sweet, but the pain she endured was unbearable.”
Payal died in 2019. But Moushumi could not see her daughter for the last time. The relationship between him and the son -in -law had become so bad that Moushumi was not allowed to attend the funeral.
Moushumi accused his son -in -law and his family that he did not even pay Payal’s medical bill. Due to this, Payal’s body was kept in the mortuary for a long time. Moushumi struggled a lot to get his daughter funeral. He said that even today his family has not been able to get out of this grief completely.
Moushumi’s life changed completely since the daughter left. This shock affected his personal life as well as his professional life.
