Meanwhile, actor Manoj Bajpayee has held a balanced opinion. He said that dogs should not be on the road, but in good homes and people also have the right to feel safe.
Instructions given to make shelter
The Supreme Court on August 11, Justice J.B. Pardiwala and R. Mahadevan’s bench ordered that all stray dogs in Delhi-NCR be sent to the shelter and do not be released on the streets again. The court has also instructed the municipal corporations to make vaccinations and shelters.
Many Bollywood stars have opposed this order. Janhvi Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Tiger Shroff, Raveena Tandon, Bhumi Pednekar, John Abraham, Veer Das, Chinmayi Shripada, Siddharth Anand and Aditi Govitrikar described it as cruel and impractical on social media. Janhvi and Varun called it “torture with unique” and advocated sterilization and vaccination.
John Abraham wrote a letter to the Chief Justice
John Abraham wrote a letter directly to the Chief Justice, calling this order against the animal rights rules. At the same time, Raveena Tandon blamed the failure of the sterilization of local bodies.
On the other hand, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma and actor Randeep Hooda supported this decision of the Supreme Court. Verma says that human life should be given priority and children are threatened by stray dogs. Randeep Hooda also called it a big solution.
