‘शोले’ जैसी ब्लॉकबस्टर भी नहीं दे सकी पहचान, देवानंद-धर्मेंद्र-राज कपूर जैसे स्टार भी नहीं चमका सके करियर

New Delhi. Noted actor Kedar Sehgal, who worked with veterans like Vinod Khanna-Shatrughna Sinha-Firoz Khan-Sanjeev Kumar, was seen in every other film in the 50-60s. In his career, he has played all kinds of roles like police, doctor, judge to an ordinary man. But even after being a part of every film, he continued to yearn the lead role and engaged in making his mark.

Kedarnath Sehgal was a prestigious character actor of Hindi cinema. He has played all kinds of roles in more than 500 films in his 50 Salosa career. He started his career with Prithvi Raj Kapoor’s film Sikander-e-Azam, in which Prithviraj Kapoor played the lead role. After this, he never looked back. There was no film in which he could not be given any role. But even after playing so many roles, he could not be able to identify in the industry which should have been played by playing so many roles.

In his career, he worked with Dilip Kumar with Ram and Shyam, Kranti, Awara with Raj Kapoor, Sri 420, Dev Anand with guide, Jewel Thef, Vinod Khanna, Shatrughan Sinha, Feroz Khan, Sanjeev Kumar, Rekha and Waheeda Rehman.

In the year 1975, Ramesh Sippy’s film Sholay in which Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra and Sanjeev Kumar were seen, he was also seen in this film. In the film, when Dharmendra climbs a water tank and talks to aunt about Basanti’s marriage, in that scene he stands down and says, ‘When the British people go to die, it is called suicide.’ Kedarnath Sehgal’s career did not get a new direction even after joining this all time blockbuster film.

Let me tell you that the films of the 70s and 80s were alam that Kedarnath Sehgal was a part of every other film. In every blockbuster and all time blockbuster like Sholay, Zanjeer, Don, Kedar Saheb’s stature was such that he felt fifty years old. Even after doing so much work in his career, the information about him is so much that he said goodbye to this world in the year 2013. People are still unable to remember their work done today.
