New Delhi: On Tuesday, the Naxalites, who surrendered 30, attended the special screening of Marathi Crime thriller ‘Ghath’ (Ghaath) with their families. The screening took place in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra at an inflated theater of PictureTime, which is the first mobile digital theater in the state. The special screening also attended the special screening, including ‘Ghan’ director Chhatrapal Ninave and actors including actors Dhananjay Mandokar and Amit Shende. The ‘Ghan’, produced by Shiladitya Bora of Platoon One Films, was shot in Gondia and Bhandara districts of Maharashtra. The film revolves around the forests affected by the Maoists, discovering complex dynamics between rebels, citizens and law enforcement. Director Chhatrapal Ninave described the screening as an emotional evening, where the team spoke to the Naxalites surrendering for hours after the film. He said that from the screening, it seemed that the journey of the film was finally completed. He said in a statement, ‘This makes me believe that’ ambush ‘has finally reached those people for whom it was actually made. These are the people who inspired my hero who was trying to leave the movement and I always hoped that they would see the story according to their own.

Nivane said that he was expecting a shower of improvements in screening, but the audience told him that the story shown in the film was correct. The director also said that he actually felt displeasure with Somaji, the commander he had portrayed on the screen. He said that it only shows how the audience personally connected to the film. The Marathi film ‘Ghahan’ was praised by critics in 2023 for his 73rd Berlin International Film Festival. Niwani also won the Gusepp Beke Award for Best Director at this festival. The film was released in India in September last year.
