New Delhi: Actress Banita Sandhu recently shared her personal experience with body shaming and emotional complexities associated with it. Banita recalled the trolls at the beginning of her career and narrated one such experience in the South Indian film industry.
Banita Sandhu, in an innovation with ANI about body shaming and trolls, shared that she was called ugly after doing South Indian film. The actress said, ‘I remember that when I did a South Indian film, I had to face body shaming. I remember that people used to call me ugly because I looked like a branch. And how can co-star in the film be attracted to me because I was so thin.
Actress was nurtured in Wales
The actress found all this very strange and especially with trolling on social media. She grew up in a different environment with a different culture. The Sardar Udham actress was born and raised in Carolion, Wells, UK. He said, ‘So I did not feel very bad or I was not criticized. I was like this .. Oh, okay, the standard of beauty in this field is different from my appearance. And I took it like this. I did not take it to my heart, like, ‘Oh God, I need to increase so much weight now’. I am very thin naturally. You can really ask any manufacturer with whom I have worked; I eat the most on the set.
Actress does not take negative reaction serially
Further, Banita also spoke about the broad culture of online crisism and revealed that he often received such negative reactions from people. According to him, such a recation should not be taken seriously.
