In the center of the film, Krishna (Darshan Kumar) is a college student who believes that his parents were killed in an accident. But after the death of his grandfather Pushkar Nath Pandit (Anupam Kher), Krishna goes to Kashmir to immerse his ash. There he has to face the truth.
Flashback shows that in 1990 the Islamic militants attack Kashmiri Pandits in the Kashmir Valley. Slogans such as “Raliv, Galiv or Chaliv” (convert, dye or leave) resonate. Pushkar Nath’s son Karan gets trapped as an Indian detective and is killed by militant commander Farooq Malik Bitta. Karan’s mother Sharda is forced to eat rice soaked in her blood.
