New Delhi. Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana is the mythological serial of Indian television, which has left an indelible mark in the hearts of the audience. All the artists of this serial worked so strongly and truth in their characters that even today their faces reside in the memory of people. Deepika Chikhalia, who plays Sita, shared some emotional memories related to the show in an interview, who returned the audience once again to that period.
Deepika told that the shooting of Ramayana was not an easy task. For this, the team had to stay away from their families for years. Shooting was going on at a location on the border of Maharashtra, which was far away from the homes of the artists. In such a situation, it was not possible to go home even during festivals.
Festivals have to be celebrated on the set
Deepika revealed that due to this serial, she and the rest of the artists did not celebrate a big festival like Holi-Diwali at her house for four consecutive years. The process lasted for about four years by mixing the shooting of Ramayana and then Love-Kush serial. During this time, all the artists also stayed on the sets on festivals and celebrated with small preparations there.
‘Celebration was for the audience, penance for us’
In an interview given to News 24, Deepika said, ‘Ramayana was a big festival for the audience, but it was a practice for us. We did not feel the lack of festivals because what we were working for was very special. He also said that despite the difficult situations of shooting and personal sacrifices, the entire team worked heartfelt, and when this serial settled in the hearts of the people, he got the real fruit of his hard work.
Never stagnant
With this, Deepika said that this show was so special for her and the entire Ramayana team that she never got this thing. His hard work paid off and even today it is one of the most favorite TV serials of India.
