Mumbai. Surya and Pooja Hegde starrer Retro was released in theaters on 1 May. Retro was appreciated by the critics, but the audience is getting a lot of love. The film has earned more than 45 crores at the box office in 5 days. Meanwhile, ‘Thalaiva’ Rajinikanth also saw ‘Retro’ and called Surya’s acting as ‘super’. Director Karthik Subbaraj shared a post on the social media platform and told that superstar Rajinikanth liked his film very much and has described Surya’s acting in it as ‘Super’.
Karthik Subbaraj wrote, “Thalaiva saw ‘Retro’ and liked it. Thalaiva praised the team for doing a great job in the film. He said that the whole team made a great effort and Surya’s acting is super. The last 40 minutes of the film keep you tied.”

The director told in the post that he is not happy with the praise of Thalaiva for the film. He further wrote, “I am very happy, love you Thalaiva.” Prior to Rajinikanth, Varun Dhawan saw ‘Retro’ and shared his views by sharing the post on the stories section of Instagram.

Varun Dhawan wrote, praising the story and actors of the film, “Last night saw ‘Retro’. Pooja Hegde was very much liked in Rukmani. Pooja, you looked very cute in the film and Surya felt your work fantastic again as usual. Comedy is also good in the film.” Let me tell you, Retro collided with Ajay Devgan, Vani Kapoor, Ritesh Deshmukh’s ‘Red 2’ and natural star Nani’s ‘Hit 3’ along with Sanjay Dutt, Mouni Roy, Palak Tiwari, Sunny Singh’s ‘The Bhootni’.
