One such star of the Indian singer, whose voice was inserted many colors of pain, love and humanity- suddenly fainted during Riyaz. He was preparing for his most iconic songs on the stage, but who knew that it was not the preparation of his last performance, but his last breath.
Since childhood, there was ties with notes
Mukesh was attached to music since childhood. While studying in school, he used to do Riyaz by reciting a song to his friends. He studied only till 10th and then got a job in PWD department. But ties with notes have never been broken. His dream was – becoming a singer and he showed it to come true with his passion.
This voice was behind every superstar
In 1950 and 60s Mukesh The voice of almost every big actor had become. Pain and truth in his songs used to descend so deeply that people used to get emotional. There is an anecdote that a sick girl said to her mother – “If Mukesh ji comes and hear me, then I will be fine.” When Mukesh came to know about this, he himself reached the girl and narrated her in his heart touching voice.
Broken voice in america
In 1976, Mukesh went to America in a troupe with Lata Mangeshkar. He had to do live shows there for a month. At 4 pm in Detroit, when he was doing ‘Jeena Die Jahna here’ on the harmonium, he suddenly felt restless. The doctor was called and rushed to the hospital immediately, but by then it was late. He had a heart attack and despite all the efforts, Mukesh said goodbye to this world forever.
A heritage that will never end
Mukesh may not be among us today, but his voice, his feelings and his songs will always be alive. He was not just a singer, but he was a feeling that reached the depth of every heart.
