Comedian Munawar Farooqui is ready to make acting debut.
New DelhiStand-up comedian Munawar Farooqui is now stepping into the acting world. The trailer of his first web series ‘First Copy’ has been released, in which he will be seen in the lead role. Munawwar has described this project as a mixer of nostalgia, hard work and emotions. In this series, Munawar also has strong actors like Crystal D’Souza, Gulshan Grover, Saqib Ayub, Ashi Singh, Mian Chang, Inam ul Haq and Raza Murad.
Munawar told that his character Arif is a clever boy who sells pirated films in the 1990s. But his dream is big – he wants to do something for real cinema and his identity. Munawar says, “This character is close to my heart, because it is my first acting journey and the film memories of childhood became refreshed in it.”
In the series, Crystal D’Souza is playing the role of a mysterious and confident woman named Mona. She says, ‘My character is of many layers – she has a royal style, but she is also struggling with her past. His relationship with Arif is special.

Gulshan Grover plays a powerful and clever man named Mahesh Kumar in this show, who runs his world through fear and power. He said, ‘This series reminds of those days when every film seemed like a festival.’
