New Delhi : 22 April 2025, a day which changed the lives of many families forever. The terrorist attack on tourist in Pahalgam region of Kashmir shook the entire country. Many innocent people died in this attack. In response, the Government of India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’. A fast and limited time military action, in which the terrorist structures in Pakistan and Pakistan-Ocupely Kashmir were targeted. The operation lasted only 25 minutes, but the message was clean.

While many well-known personalities and the general public supported this strict response of the government, some people objected to this. Meanwhile, a name came into the discussion- Amina Nizam, who is a well-known actress of the Malayalam film industry, who expressed her displeasure over this operation.

Who is Amina Nizam?

Amina Nizam is an actress belonging to Kerala, who started her career with the Malayalam TV reality show ‘heroine Nayakan’. His popular projects include Gangs of 18, Patinatam Paddi, Ajam Patira, Sebastian Velliajhacha, Pattapakal, Turkish Turkum and Turbo.

Amina’s statement on ‘Operation Sindoor’

As soon as the information of Operation Sindoor came out, Amina shared a post on Instagram, in which she wrote- ‘Yes, I am ashamed that our country chose the murder as a solution, when there are still many questions that have not been answered and the economic situation of the country is worse. War does not bring peace. Those who work with revenge have been seduced. This will only be harmful for ordinary citizens. I am an Indian who thinks for the good of the people of the country, not just when I speak the ego.

There was a lot of opposition on social media about his post. Many users called him a traitor and faced trolling.

Amina was forced to apologize

Seeing the growing controversy, Amina shared another story, in which she clarified- ‘I shared a story which was related to a lawyer, which mentioned the death of Pakistani citizens. But when I officially came to know that no citizen died in this operation, I removed that story. I apologize for this.

This case of Amina Nizam once again shows that both freedom to express opinions on social media and its responsibility go together. While everyone has the right to speak, the understanding of facts on national issues is equally important.
