New Delhi. Famous producer of 70 and 80s Salim Akhtar has passed away. He made films like ‘Phool Aur Angare’ and ‘Qayamat’. According to reports, he was ill for the last several days and was admitted to Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai. There he breathed his last on 8 April. After Manoj Kumar’s death, Salim Akhtar’s departure is another big loss for the film industry. After Johar’s prayers at 1.30 pm today, they will be handed over to the cemetery near Ila Masjid.

Salim Akhtar was a great film maker. He was known for his straightforward and simple behavior. He was very active in the 1980s and 1990s. It is being told that for a long time, sick Salim Akhtar was on ventilator for the last few days. The news of his death has caused mourning in the industry.

His work left a deep impression on the audience and his death is a big loss for the film industry. He is survived by his wife Shama Akhtar and son Samad Akhtar.
