New Delhi: Hindi cinema or say Bollywood is going through a bad phase in recent years, where more flop films are coming at the box office than hit films. Now many big stars like Salman and Aamir Khan are also craving hits. Compared to regional films, Hindi films have failed to leave their mark in recent times in terms of box office numbers and number of audiences in cinema. At the same time, the other industry, whether it is Malaliam or Tamil, Telugu or Kannada, the stories there are performing well. Accepting this situation, Aamir Khan said that Hindi films are equal to other film industry, although there is scope for improvement.
Bollywood should learn from another industry
In an interview with Hollywood Reporter India, Aamir said, ‘I am not saying that we cannot be a better filmmaker. Certainly, I think there is a lot of scope for us to improve and learn from different industry as filmmakers. After saying this, he was asked whether there is any difference in the quality of filmmaking across the country?
Aamir said, viewers changed after 2000 flax
Responding to this, he said, ‘If you talk about the 70s and 80s, then look at the quality of the films we are making. When I came in 1988, I think the number of films made at that time was very less. Since then, if you ask me, we have improved. After the 90s, when 2000 came, the audience changed. They are very open and want to see different types of content.
How can we repair Bollywood’s decay?
At the same time, when asked what he can do to improve Bollywood in the current situation, Aamir said, ‘I just want to do what I am doing and want to tell the stories that I believe. This is what I know to do. I am not a person who has a big opinion about himself that I can change things. I never expressed such an opinion about myself.
