In 2012, the film was at number 11 in terms of earning the most money. The story of the film was inspired by the 2004 movie ‘The Man Who Sued God’. Umesh Shukla along with his writer colleagues wrote Gujarati play. More than 150 shows of this play were done. Paresh Rawal played the role of Kanji Bhai in these plays. Akshay Kumar produced the film. A case was also registered against the film’s makers in Jalandhar.

The PK film was released on 19 December 2014. The story of the film was written by Ajitabh Joshi and Rajkumar Hirani. The PK film broke all the records of earning in 13 days of release.
