Leena was born on 29 August 1950 in Konkani Marathi Family in Karnataka. His father used to be an army officer. Leena chose modeling for a career. She wanted to join the glamor industry since childhood. In such a situation, he started with ads and then on seeing it, he also started getting films.

Leena Chandavarkar auditioned for Sunil Dutt’s film Messiah (1967) for the first time and she passed and became the heroine of the film. But Leena’s luck did not support and she stopped before the film was made. But Sunil Dutt liked Leena’s beauty and work and so the second film was given Meet and she was overnight.

In the 70s, Leena Chandavarkar worked. There used to be beauty discussions everywhere. She also overtook Hema Malini and Mumtaz. For about 10 years, Leena continued to work back to back and did a lot of work with Rajesh Khanna to Jitendra to Dilip Kumar.

Leena Chandavarkar married Siddharth Bandodkar, son of former Goa Chief Minister Dayanand Bandodkar at the age of 24. But after 11 days of marriage, a Siddharth was shot and shot at the age of 25.
