Deepak Tijori told during a conversation that he was not the first choice for Shekhar Malhotra’s role. He said that despite the audition, he was initially rejected and the character was given to Milind Soman. He told Bollywood bubble, ‘Milind was doing the film. I had auditioned for this, but I was rejected. I was disappointed because I was rejected despite performing well. Then I moved forward and thankfully, my film ‘Aashiqui’ (1990) was successful. Deepak told that after the shooting of 75 percent with Milind ‘Jo Jeeta Jeeta Wahi Sikandar’, the makers felt that he was not right for the role. He said, ‘I used to hear that there was some problem going on the set of’ Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikander ‘. But since I was not associated with the film, I did not pay attention.
