How is the person trapped in the trap?

It is a matter of May 2025. The victim was going to the poise depot in Kandivali. On the way, a poster was seen on which it was written – ‘Take cash from credit card’. There was a mobile number on the poster, which he saved. Call that number on 13 May. The person who spoke from the front, described himself as Dilip Kumar Sahu. He said that he can withdraw money by withdrawing money from credit card, that too in 2.5% commission. In order to establish trust, in the first transaction, the victim immediately sent Rs 19,500 out of Rs 20 thousand.

The victim was confident of this transaction. He again approached Dileep on 16 May and demanded Rs 3.5 lakh. This time he also shared complete information and OTP of two credit cards. But after the transaction, no money came to his account. A total of Rs 3,50,020 was debuted and Dilip’s phone stopped.

How was the arrest?

The victim then first filed a complaint on the National Cybercrime Portal. After this, Dahisar Cyber ​​Police also became active. Investigation revealed that the accused had cheated similarly in Kandivali, Goregaon and many areas of Mumbai. Even there were complaints against him in Kaushambi in UP. Under the supervision of Jon 12 officials, the police team handed over the case to API Ankush Dandge and Constable Srikanth Deshpande. Both officers discovered the accused from Kaushambi and were brought to Mumbai on transit remand on 28 June. The court has sent the accused to police custody till 1 July. Police say that Dileep has cheated many more people in the same way and the investigation of the case is still going on.
