Recently, Jackie Shroff spoke about his film Journey and told how Dev Anand replaced him with Mithun Chakraborty in his Bollywood debut film. He got the role of Shakti Kapoor’s spoon.

On the podcast of Kunika Sadanand, Jackie told that when Dev Anand offered him a role in his film Swami Dada, he was very happy. He said, ‘It happened that he offered me a second lead. I was unable to believe my eyes and ears that Dev Saheb is sitting in front of me. His son Sunil was also there. He told me that he (Dev Saheb) is an offer of the film. I went home and told my mother that I got a chance to become a second lead in the film. Everyone became happy in the entire locality that Jaggu became a hero.

He also remembered how he removed him from the second lead and gave the role of Villain’s spoon directly. Jackie Shroff said, ’15 days later Dev Saheb got a call and he called me. When I went there, he said that Gemini is here, I am going to give that role to Mithun, because he is a better dancer. I have seen you dancing, you are good, but they are better and they are also senior. Instead of the dates you brought, I will give you a role and then I became a spoon of Shakti Kapoor.

Jackie Shroff further said, ‘I was demonstrated in 15, became the third villain from the second lead. I went home and said that my mother got the role of Villain. He said that nothing has been found, do it well. Jackie Shroff said that even after getting the role of Villain’s spoon, he was not disappointed and worked in the film with hard work.
