‘तुमने हमारी 1 ली, अब हम तुम्हारी…’ लव जिहाद की आग में झुलसा बॉलीवुड का प्यार, सैफ-करीना की शादी की खौफनाक कहानी
New Delhi. Interfaith marriage has always been the center of controversies in Bollywood’s famous Pataudi family. Sharmila Tagore converted to Islam for the love and marriage of Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, after which she was named Ayesha Sultana. After Sharmila Tagore, her son and Nawab of Pataudi family had two marriages and both were interfaith marriages, first with Amrita Singh and second with Kareena Kapoor. Recently, Soha Ali Khan told that when her brother Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor decided to get married, she had to face allegations like ‘love jihad’ and ‘ghar wapsi’. The threats were so serious that death plots were hatched.
‘You took one of ours, now we will take one of yours’
Soha Ali Khan herself has an interfaith marriage with Kunal Khemu. Talking about this issue with Nayandeep Rakshit, she said, ‘I don’t care about these things because the people I love and respect are with me.’ He further said, ‘At the time of Kareena and brother’s wedding, strange headlines like ‘Love Jihad’, ‘Ghar Wapsi’ were made. It was even said, ‘You have taken one of ours, now we will take one of yours’. In those days, there used to be a lot of uproar on social media regarding such words. But Bhai and Kareena clearly refused to bow down to any kind of hatred or threat.

There is a age difference of 12 years between Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan.
‘I don’t care who…’
He said, ‘There will always be haters, everyone has a different opinion and that’s okay too. I don’t care who says what, as long as my family and people close to me are happy with my decision.
Saif did not take threats seriously
Saif Ali Khan had revealed in an old interview given to Rediff that Kareena’s father Randhir Kapoor received unknown letters, in which there were threats to harm the family and attack the wedding venue. But, Saif took it lightly and said, ‘Making a threat and carrying it out are two different things.’ He cited the interfaith marriage of his mother Sharmila Tagore and father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi in the 1960s, which also faced similar difficulties.
‘Bullets will speak’ when Tiger’s family got scared of threat
Sharmila Tagore also reminisced about her marriage while talking to Mojo Story. During his wedding in Kolkata, the family received a telegram in which it was written ‘Bullets will speak’. Tiger i.e. Mansoor Ali Khan’s family got nervous, but Sharmila said that everything went well and the wedding became memorable.
