In a new interview, Aamir said that the offer of this film was rejected by three actresses, not one or two, after which Fatima Sana Sheikh played this character. He also stated that the director was suspicious of taking Fatima in this role as Aamir played his father’s role in ‘Dangal’ and had to play his lover’s role here, so Vijay removed his romantic track from the film.
Deepika-Alia-Shraddha rejected the offer
In a conversation with The Lalantop, Aamir Khan said that Aditya and Vijay had difficulty in casting Fatima in the role of ‘Jafira’. ‘When we were casting for this, no actress was saying yes for this role. Deepika, Alia, Shraddha, all refused. That film was offered to the entire industry, but no one wanted to do it. When asked if they rejected it because it was poorly written, Aamir said that this could be the cause of his refusal. She shared that the manufacturers chose Fatima because she had given a test for this role and fit, but she decided that ‘we would not keep a romantic track between you and them because she was your daughter in the riot, how can she become your girlfriend here? The audience will reject it.

In this conversation, Aamir Khan revealed that he did not make the main script of ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ as it was continuously editing in it. After the film was made, he received a call from Aditya Chopra in which he was told, ‘I have seen the first cut and this is a great film. You don’t know what you have made. Aamir said that when he saw the film, he was ‘shocked’ because he found this ‘really bad’. Aamir said, I told them that I did not understand this and at first he thought that I was joking. Then I told them that it will not last a single day. He discussed the film for the next 6-8 months and he used to fight him every day that we have made it completely wrong.
The title of the film was ‘extremely missleeding’
Aamir Khan explained that in the original film, Amitabh Bachchan’s character was about to die during the interval, but the changes completely changed the story. Both Vijay and Aditya were confident and they were very happy with it and they did not want me to intervene in it. He is the director and producer of the film and his decision is last. When asked about the title of the film, Aamir said that he had found this ‘very missleed’ but he remembered that Aditya wanted to make films like Pirates of the Caribbean. So they accepted it.
