People have also expressed their staunch on his latest song Sirra and in this case, Ludhiana Court has also issued summons.

This Saman has been issued after a complaint filed by Rajdeep Singh Mann, a resident of Ludhiana district. In his complaint, the complainant Rajdeep Singh alleged that the lyrics of the Guru’s latest song ‘Sirra’ are derogatory and emphasize the use of drugs.

Ludhiana person objected to the song of Guru Randhawa

Rajdeep Singh in his complaint objected to a special line of Guru Randhawa’s song. There is a line in the song- ‘Oh jatta de aa kake baliye… Jammeya nu gurti f mill is opium…’ whose translation is’ we are the sons of Jats. We got opium in the first dose at birth.

Court issued summons to Guru Randhawa

The complainant’s lawyer, Gurbir Singh Dhillon called the lyrics of the song “derogatory” and demanded an FIR against Guru Randhawa. According to the report of the Indian Express, the lawyer said, ‘We demand an FIR against Randhawa. The lyrics of the song insult a sacred Sikh tradition. The practice of giving Gurati is deeply emotional and associated with respect and purity. The song shows that opium is given to newborns in Jat families, which is unacceptable ‘.

The court has now asked Guru Randhawa to appear ‘personally or through a lawyer’. This summons has been issued under Section 223 of the Indian Civil Protection Code (BNSS). Apart from Guru Randhawa, the complaint also mentions Apple Music, YouTube, Amazon Music, Instagram, Spotify India, Warner Music India and other online platforms that are hosting the song.
