The character of mother (Mansi Sudhir’s character) was very important in the first film. The character of a divine dancer is important in the story but the character of mother is also very special. Rishabh Shetty insisted on the climax of the film, saying, ‘If you remember the climax, when I was performing a dance ritual by incarnating a divine soul, my mother was an integral part of it. She was playing an instrument like dhol. The divine dancer could perform rituals only after taking his blessings. Our film is about divinity and is a great energy. Similarly, a mother is also similar to high energy.

Kanakavati’s character strong
Rishabh further said, ‘The film was about Shiva. He does bad acts and is fearless. He is only afraid of his mother. We have also shown his weak side in the film. When he dreams of a bad dream at night, he runs to his mother and sleeps like a child. He described the female characters of his films as important, ‘From the beginning I give great importance to my women characters in all my films. In my opinion, Kanakavati is also a very strong character in ‘Kantara Chapter 1’. I think I have justified my female characters in a film as well, where the story revolves around a man. I understand the discussions that happened. But that is his perspective. I know that I have justified them.
