When Deepika was asked if she ever felt that she had to pay a price for demanding what she felt was right, Deepika gave a very thoughtful answer, an answer that reflected both her simplicity and honesty. She said on the working hours debate, ‘I have done this at many levels, this is not a new thing for me. I think even in terms of things like payment, I had to deal with whatever I got. I don’t know what to call it, but I always fight my battles quietly. For some strange reason sometimes it becomes public, which is not my style nor was I brought up like this. But yes, fighting my battles and doing it quietly and with dignity is my way.
Deepika replied simply
Deepika’s words not only narrated her journey but also threw light on what is happening in the industry, where equality, justice and respect are discussed. True to her identity, Deepika is still pursuing her every objective with utmost simplicity, courage and truth, whether it is on or off screen. Through her work and her words, Deepika Padukone once again reminds everyone that power does not always lie in speaking loudly, but sometimes it is also reflected in silence, simplicity and your purpose.
