Mumbai. Mohanlal, Prithviraj Sukumar, Tovino Thomas and Manju Warrior starrer ‘L2 Empuran’ is earning a record at the box office. The film has collected more than 90 crore rupees in India. Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided the producer property of ‘L2: Emperran’ in Chennai on Friday and recovered Rs 1.5 crore. CNN-News 18 has come to know that the case raised by ED is related to a case being investigated by the Income Tax Department.
In the year 2017, the Income Tax Department raided Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka at 76 places associated with producer Gokul Gopalan and his chit fund company. In raids and subsequent investigation, the Income Tax Department revealed that the company had hidden an income of Rs 1107 crore in 5 years, including a bad debate of Rs 118 crore and undisclosed interest income of Rs 80 crore, that is, it was not included in the documents.

Investigation in case of fraud and forgery ED doing ED
Now the ED has registered a new case in the case of NRI and other unauthorized transactions of Rs 1000 crore under several provisions of The Foreign Exchange Management Actor (FEMA) in this case. The ED is also investigating cases of fraud and forgery filed against Gopalan Chit and Finance Company Limited in a separate case.

Gopalan Chit and Finance Company are officially known as Mr. Gopalan Chit and Finance Company Private Limited. It is a major finance service company in India. It mainly works on chit funds. It was on July 23, 1968, Mr. AM. It was established by Gopalan, which is known as Gopalan Gopalan. The company started usually in Maylapur, Chennai, aimed at providing financial assistance to the common people. In decades, it has become one of the largest chit fund companies in India. It has a network of about 480 branches across the country and the turnover of the group is more than Rs 7,000 crore.
