Elvish Yadav, the winner of the famous YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT season 2, is once again under controversy. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has summoned them for questioning on Tuesday for alleged racist and derogatory remarks against Miss Arunachal and Bigg Boss 18 contestant Chum Dong. Elvish has been asked to appear in NCW’s Delhi office by noon.
The matter came into the limelight when Yadav made fun of Chum Dong’s name, ethnicity, and his film Gangubai Kathiawadi in a podcast with Bigg Boss 18 contestant Rajat Dalal.
What did Elvish say?
Elvish Yadav made objectionable comments on Chum Dong and Karanvir Mehra in the podcast aired on 11 February 2025. Elvish had said, ‘Karan Veer had sure Kovid, because who likes kiss brother? Whose test is bad? And kisses have obscenity in the name… the name is done in Kiss and Kama Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Kiss Darang also gave a tough answer
Chum Darang also gave a strict reply to Elvish’s comment. Miss Arunachal, who was a Darrang, wrote in the Instagram post, ‘It is not’ joke ‘to insult someone’s identity and name. Making fun of someone’s achievements is not ‘laughing’. The time has come for us to draw the line between humor and hatred. Even more disappointing is that it was not just about my ethnicity – my hard work and a film supported by veteran like Sanjay Leela Bhansali was also humiliated.
Complaint of Arunachal Women’s Commission
Arunachal Pradesh State Women’s Commission (APSCW) had also strongly condemned Elvish’s comment and wrote a letter to NCW demanding action. APSCW President Kanzam Pakam said, ‘Elvish Yadav’s comments are not only an insult to Chum Darang, but also hurts the dignity of women of the entire Northeast India. Such comments create fear and insecurity in women of the Northeast who fulfill their dreams in Bollywood. Pakam had taken automatic cognizance from NCW and demanded strict action against Yadav.
