New Delhi: The film ‘Udaipur Files’ has not been relieved from the Supreme Court, which is built on the Kanhaiyalal murder in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The Supreme Court has upheld the release of the film. Apart from this, the five -member inquiry committee of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has suggested to make six changes in the film.

The Supreme Court has directed the Central Government to hand over a copy of these suggestions to the petitioners and the next hearing on 24 July. Till then the ban on the release of the film will continue. The inquiry committee constituted on the orders of the Delhi High Court has advised to change the disclaimer of the film, add voice over and remove some credit frames. Apart from this, a change in the AI-Janred scene of the turban used in Saudi Arabia, the name of Nupur Sharma’s name ‘Nutan Sharma’ has been suggested to use the new name and remove his dialogue ‘The same thing which is written in their religious texts’.

Disputed dialogues will be removed from the film

The film ‘Udaipur Files’ includes removing three dialogues related to the Baluchi community, including ‘Hafiz, Baluchi never loyal’, ‘Maqbool Baluchi Ki… Hey Kya Kya Baluchi, Kya Afghani, Kya Hindustani, Kya Pakistani’. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told the Supreme Court that the central government has issued an order with these suggestions. A bench of Justices Suryakant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi said during the hearing that they would consider the case in the next hearing after seeing the copy of the Center’s decision.

The film accused of inciting religious sentiments
‘Udaipur Files’ is based on the murder of Udaipur tailor Kanhaiyalal Sahu in 2022, the film was approved by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with more than 50 cuts, but the petitioners say that it can stress communal tension. The Supreme Court has fixed the next date after hearing all the parties.
