Shikhar Dhawan has also been summoned this month. The names of actor Rana Daggubati and Prakash Raj associated with the Telugu film industry were also revealed in this case.
The whole matter started with an FIR lodged at Miyapur police station in Hyderabad. Faninder Sharma, a businessman living there, had complained that big celebrities and influencers are promoting illegal betting apps on social media, due to which millions of people are investing money and facing financial losses.
The government has recently been told that it has ordered to block more than 1,500 online betting and gambling platforms since 2022. This investigation of ED is also considered important because it includes big film stars and cricketers, whose words have a profound effect on the common people.
