Rajesh Khanna became superstar and Shammi Kapoor started getting taunts

Ashish Vidyarthi told, ‘Shammi ji had told me one thing many years ago. I was shooting a serial named ‘Dastan’ in Sharjah and Shammi Kapoor came there with a producer to shoot ‘Chattan’. One day suddenly he advised me and said, ‘Son, remember, the people of this industry will remove your air. When my stardom started decreasing, people started saying to me, ‘Shammi ji, what happened, where is the crowd nowadays?’ I replied to him, ‘Son, nowadays he is outside the blessing (Rajesh Khanna’s bungalow).’

People will leave you, who praise you…

Ashish further said that these words of Shammi Kapoor settled in his mind forever. He explained, ‘They meant that people would leave you. The same people who used to praise you will go away one day and you will be left alone. Success is achieved by your luck, so celebrate that moment, but do not consider it forever.
