Uday Prakash’s real name was Manikandan. He was born in Ooty. His father was in the army, so he was raised in discipline. But his love for art and cinema was adamant. Despite the family opposition, he moved to Chennai. There he struggled to work in cinema. He first acted in director Pasil’s film ‘Varusham 16’, but he did not get any dialogue in it.
Uday Prakash, in which Manshan lived, a producer actor came to meet the innings. But the innings were not there, only Uday Prakash was. Seeing Uday Prakash, the producer proposed to work in his next film. The film was the Telugu film ‘Vyjayanti IPS’ released in 1990, in which actress Vijayashanti played the lead role. Apart from this, he played the role of Villain with many heroes like Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Prasanth, Arjuna, Prabhudheva, Arun Pandian, Mammooti, Parthiban. At one time he became director P. Vasu’s favorite actor.
Growing rapidly in Tamil cinema, he married a woman who came to see the shooting. His life was going well, but alcohol addiction ruined his life. Despite being the son of the army, he started drinking alcohol in the joy of working in films. Gradually he became addicted to alcohol. At one time, he also lost films opportunities and his family life was also ruined. Alcohol became his world and he fell into a deep crisis.
Due to lack of adequate income and sinking in debt, he left Chennai and started living in a hut in Salem with the help of a woman Sadhvi. When his position came in the media, the actor Sangh helped him. He was sent to the rehabilitation center and started a new life. Sarathkumar gave him a chance to work in his film ‘Divan’ and he returned to cinema again. In 2004, he did another film, which was his last film.

Vasu admitted him to the hospital, but during treatment he left the hospital and again drunk and fell on the road near the actor Sangh. At that time he was 40 years old.
