Directed by Anil Sharma, the film was released in 2007. The Sports Drama film had achieved an important achievement as Dharmendra and his two sons Sunny and Bobby Deol came together on screen for the first time. Sunny and Bobby had earlier shared the screen in ‘Dillagi’ (1999). Earlier, Dharmendra appeared in ‘Sultanate’ (1986) and ‘Kshatriya’ (1993) with son Sunny. In the film ‘Apna’, all three were seen together on screen for the first time.
