New Delhi. Director Amar Kaushik’s film ‘Stree 2’ proved to be an all time blockbuster at the box office. It was one of the highest grossing films of 2024. However, in the year 2022, Amar Kaushik’s ‘Wolf’ film came, which did not have a magic at the box office. Now the director revealed that due to Ajay Devgan’s ‘Drishyam 2’, his ‘wolf’ could not perform well at the box office.
Talking about Komal Nahata’s podcast ‘The Game Changers’, Amar Kaushik spoke about the failure of ‘wolf’. He said, ‘There were two things that I later understood. One had come at the same time. Like ‘Stree 2’ was released with two more films. Similarly, the wolf also clashed with Drishyam 2 and it was a good film.
‘Drishyam 2’ spoiled the game
He further said, ‘Drishyam 2’ was released a week before our film, so her wind had become. Everyone was going to see the same and I had made my film keeping the youngsters in mind and the exams were going on at that time. Students did not know about this. He came to know after the OTT release and he liked the film very much.
Audiences did not like climax?
Amar Kaushik further said, ‘The second thing can be that I tried to make the climax a little special that both are animals. I had the option to convert to fight as Varun, but I thought that if I fight Varun, everyone will know that this is the wishful wolf. Then what would I do in the sequel? So all those things were going on. But there is learning.

Varun Dhawan did a cameo in Rajkumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Stree 2’, in which he was seen in a wolf character.
